Can you think of the last time anyone cared about a movie soundtrack? Maybe The Bodyguard, with all of its Whitney Houston hits, or Moulin Rouge, with its quirky covers of pop songs by Elton John and The Police. But I can’t recall the last time a soundtrack received buzz before the movie even came out.
Well since the Twilight movies are such a phenomenon, every small details receives breathless coverage. So I guess it shouldn’t be surprising that rumors about The Material Girl and The Boy Band Du Jour contributing songs to New Moon spread so quickly across the InterWebs.
The Jonas Brothers gave an interview to MTV talking about how much they’d love to be asked to contribute a song. There’s a small snag though: the JoBros haven’t seen Twilight yet! C’mon fellas–how are you going to capture the angst of Bella and Edward’s love if you haven’t watched the movie yet?
Madonna is rumored to also appear on the soundtrack, since her manager is also producing New Moon. I think a Madonna song like “Frozen”–cool, spectral and haunting–would be ideal for a movie about star-crossed vampire relationships, but that’s just me.
The Predicto Mobile community would love to see Madge and the JoBros sing songs for the Twilight gang: 66% predict that both Madonna and the Jonas Bros. will appear on the New Moon soundtrack.

Only semi-related, but I saw Wall-E last weekend. Delightful, proving that our new flat-screen TV was well-worth the cost.
But I hate it when an Oscar nominee for Best Song only appears in the film after the credits start to roll. Not Mr Gabriel’s finest work, either….
The Lost Boys soundtrack is still the best aural accompaniment to vampiric celluloid, tho!
I heard Anatomy by Anarbor is going to be on the New Moon soundtrack (myspace.com/anarbor)
