Will a Third Batman Movie Start Filming in 2010?

batman_beginsAs one of the blockbuster franchises of the early 2000s, Batman Begins and The Dark Knight have reinvigorated interest in Batman films, especially after the Oscar-winning performance of the late Heath Ledger.

But everyone from Christian Bale to director Chris Nolan keep questioning the likelihood of a third adventure in Gotham City.

Over the weekend, Gary Oldman, the actor who plays Commissioner Gordon, told attendees of Comic-Con International that filming for the third flick starts next year. That could put a Batman film in theaters by 2011 … if what he says is true, of course.

Will Warner Bros. announce that it is the third installment of the series by 11/25? 82% of the voting members of the Predicto Mobile community say yes.

“I hope they come out with one soon. Batman never gets old and never gets lame,” says member “serbctz6567.”

“I can’t wait for the new Batman movie because it’s going to be interesting to see who they get to play in the movie,” says “frpj0727.”

“Christian Bale makes a great Batman. Loved Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. Heath Ledger was awesome,” says “serlcxk6064.”

“The Batman [series] is one of the best. Unfortunately, the untimely death of Heath Ledger kind of let that storyline go,” says “uoik7221.”

While the movie will be without Ledger, we hope to not be deprived of more mayhem in the mean streets of Gotham.
