Whitney vs. Wendy, Round 2?

Thursday, July 16th, 2009

Whitney HoustonBack in 2003, Whitney Houston was interviewed on Wendy Williams’ radio show. Though the interview took place on New York station WBLS, word quickly spread of the expletive-laced rant Houston let loose on the TV/radio personality — which lasted for nearly 25 minutes.

The legendary confrontation has Predicto wondering: Since Whitney is poised to make a comeback in September with her new album, I Look To You, and Williams is now the host of one of the hottest talk shows on TV, will the two divas meet again?

Wendy seems interested in making it happen, and at least 85% of Predicto Mobile community members predict that Whitney will be on Williams’ show for round two by 9/5.

“It [would] be too good of publicity to pass up,” says member “sfta0057” of the potentially forthcoming fireworks between the two.

wendy“I just don’t know if she will. Wendy might ask some questions that she might not want to answer,” says dissenting voter “vallynandmatt.”

If and when it happens, we’ll be glued to our sets to see if the meeting is a catfight or a love fest. Afraid you’ll miss out on the dirt? Will Wolverine Survive This Summer?

Wednesday, July 15th, 2009

The EndMarvel Comics is running a limited series titled Ultimatum and the final issue is one that comic book fans are sure to be talking about.

As you can see in the cover shot to the left, Avengers Hawkeye and an unmasked Iron Man, and X-Men teammates Storm, Cyclops and Jean Grey stand over the skeletal remains of an unknown victim. We’re not too sure who it is, but Jean looks none to happy — and her killer gaze is set on Cyclops. Did he commit murder?

Fan boards are raging about whose body it might be and the most popular suspect is also Marvel’s most popular mutant: Wolverine.

But the Predicto Mobile community isn’t convinced Wolvie’s crispy carcass is sprawled out before our heroes, with nearly 68% voting that the House of Ideas won’t kill him off in the final issue of the story arc.

“Wolverine’s my fave. I hope they don’t!” says member “wildncrazy_gurl.”

“Wolverine is like top dog, they can’t kill him off,” says “BigA2419.”

“Maybe they will kill him off and then bring him back,” says “nzub3579.” True, Marvel is notorious for bringing its characters back from the dead (Jean Grey/Phoenix, anyone?), but we’ll have to wait until July 29 to see who gets vaporized. Party Time with Kim Kardashian on Predicto TV

Tuesday, July 14th, 2009

It’s back to the red carpet for the Predicto TV crew as we are invited to a private party in SoHo hosted by none other than Kim Kardashian! The sidewalks around the hot club Greenhouse were packed with stargazers, all eager to get a look at the celebs who popped out of limousines and SUVs. Predicto TV was also able to snag time with Lance Bass, Playboy Playmate Lindsey Vuolo and MTV actress Erin Lucas. We asked Kim whether or not Janet Jackson will perform a tribute to Michael at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. “I think that would be amazing if she did. It would be really brave of her. It would be amazing, and the whole world would want to see that, so I hope she does.” [How the Predicto Mobile Community Voted: YES 90% NO 10%] Watch Episode 28 of Predicto TV!

A.I. to L.A.?

Tuesday, July 14th, 2009

Allen Iverson 2If there’s one thing the Los Angeles Clippers will never be accused of, it’s being contenders for the NBA Finals. Most Angelenos probably even forget that they have another basketball team when the Lakers bring home so many championship trophies.

But locals and national fans may soon take notice of L.A.’s other team. See, the Clippers are in serious talks to get the Detroit Pistons’ Allen Iverson into their ranks to join first-round draft pick Blake Griffin, who handed the some Lakers a defeat in a recent summer league game.

Could the two form a dynamic duo that with championship potential? Nearly 74% of voting members of the Predicto Mobile community think so and expect A.I. to be rocking a Clippers jersey in the fall.

“That’s going to be a killer team!” says member “mattash86.”

“[Griffin’s] going to need him, and A.I. didn’t do too good last season, so the Pistons will have no problem sending him on his way,” says “dbpy2115.”

But “glvw2066” takes an opposing position, saying that Iverson “wants to go to a team that can win championships.”

What do you think will happen: Iverson in a Clippers jersey? Traded to another team? Staying put in Detroit? Will Madoff Spill How He Made Off with their Money?

Monday, July 13th, 2009

Bernie MadoffLast month, Bernie Madoff was sentenced to 150 years in prison for orchestrating a Ponzi scheme that robbed billions of dollars from its investors. Gone are many of their hopes and dreams of a luxurious and comfortable retirement, and gone are Madoff’s days as a free man.

He’ll have plenty to think about while he’s locked up, but will he reveal what we’re sure are tortured thoughts of remorse for what he’s done? Predicto asked and 68% of our mobile voting community expects that Madoff will give an interview from prison by 9/20.

“He is too humiliated,” says member “rkkb9127.” Plus, as “vhku8024” adds, “He doesn’t care, he had a good life.” Both members voted now.

“[But] everyone wants to know what he was thinking,” says “tajz1729,” who voted yes. And perhaps the question on everyone’s mind: “ … Who will be the lucky one to ask the questions?” asks “fnzu1438.” Both of these members voted yes.

Will the Bradys Bunch on Oprah?

Friday, July 10th, 2009

Brady BunchHere’s the story … of two girls who played Bradys … and the joke about their alleged lesbian affair.

OK, OK, so it was too easy to use The Brady Bunch’s theme song to discuss the current controversy surrounding our favorite blended family, but why fight what feels right? Then again, maybe we should be asking Eve Plumb that question. She’s the actress who played the lovable-yet-tortured middle child Jan Brady on the hit ’70s sitcom.

See, according to Maureen McCormick (Marcia B.), all of the Brady kids are set to reunite on Oprah in September (thank goodness it’s not another made-for-TV movie). All, that is, except one: McCormick’s former best friend, Eve “Jan Brady” Plumb.

Marcia thinks Jan won’t commit due a joke she made about the two having a girl-on-girl kiss during the show’s run. Plumb’s camp says Oprah hasn’t called.

Conflicting views we can deal with, but now it’s threatening the reunion we’ve been waiting decades for!

So, will Eve Plumb sync her calendar with her TV siblings for the Oprah reunion? Of the voting members of the Predicto Mobile community, 77% predict that this family feud will end with Jan sitting alongside Bobby, Greg, Peter, Cindy and Marcia, Marcia, Marcia.

“It would be awesome and they should make a movie as well,” says member “dnra6623.”

“They are getting out of the public eye. Why bring them back?” asks “lbqq5437.”

“[Because,] she has to need the money,” says “ldci6374.”

Perhaps more importantly, according to “pogo123,” “You can’t say no to Oprah.”

Golly, we would love to see all the kids together, along with Mrs. Brady and Alice, too. King James De-Throned?

Thursday, July 9th, 2009

LeBron James 2LeBron James joined the Cleveland Cavaliers to much fanfare in 2003, and was hailed as the greatest “straight out of high school” recruit the NBA had seen in a while. What’s currently out of sight, however, is James getting schooled by an underclassman.

King James was hosting his Skills Academy on Monday night when he apparently got dunked on by Xavier University’s Jordan Crawford in a pickup game.

It happens to the greatest basketball players, but stories say that Nike reps snatched the tapes of present videographers and may be causing a blackout online. No videos of the incident are on YouTube and those who did post them claim they were taken down within minutes of being posted.

Because everyone’s in a hurry to see this footage and because this is the age of the Internet, nearly 87% of voting members of the Predicto Mobile community expect that the video will be leaked by 8/25.

“LeBron James getting dunked on was a miracle,” says member “luzf3685.”

“The kid can use [the video] to show pro coaches what he can do,” says “Mr.Mouse169.”

“ … The college boy is going to want to prove what he did to a famous player,” says “iiuf4280.”

“Nike took the tape and they’re not going to let that tape surface,” says “jhvf7245,” one of the few who seemed to take an opposing stance.

Who do you agree with? And will Nike’s alleged blocking of the video prevent their poster boy’s humiliation? And does LeBron really have anything to be ashamed of? I Gotta Feeling the Black Eyed Peas are in Trouble

Wednesday, July 8th, 2009

Black Eyed PeasHaving dominated the Billboard Hot 100 since April, one would think the Black Eyed Peas would be reveling in the success. Instead, they’re embroiled in controversy.

Their most notable scandal involves that incident with Perez Hilton, which ended up with their tour manager being arrested and the self-proclaimed Queen of All Media planning to press charges. Today’s drama comes from some beat-biting done on one of the songs from their recent album.

Apparently, their track “Party All the Time” has a similar sound to “Mancry” by UK electronic outfit, Freeland. Perezzers took it upon himself to post a YouTube video of the two song intros played back-to-back and remind us that this isn’t the first time a project associated with will.i.am has been accused of plagiarism.

Nearly 54% of the voting Predicto Mobile community predicts that the Black Eyed Peas will get sued for unauthorized sampling of Freeland’s song.

“I think they should get sued like everyone else. Just because they’re celebrities doesn’t mean they can get away with it,” says “yoez5933,” who voted yes.

“They knew what they did and should not have done it. Now they need to pay the penalty,” says yes-voting “mnvikings56401.”

“I think honestly that the Black Eyed Peas will get out of it because they have the money,” says “ufal4547,” who along with “zlkj4876, voted no. “Black Eyed Peas are awesome on their own. They wouldn’t need to steal,” says “zlkj4876.”

Will the Peas be taken to court, even though legal matters allegedly prevented the rights from being secured in time?
