Time to put on your dancing shoes! The new season of Dancing with the Stars begins in September, and ABC will announce the celeb lineup on Monday, August 30th during an episode of Bachelor Pad. This makes sense, considering how many rose ceremony participants have competed in the past.
In fact, the implosion of Bachelor Jake’s relationship with Vienna occurred not long after his stint on DWTS, with Jake accusing Vienna of being jealous of all the attention he received. Vienna’s not a exactly a wallflower, and since she’s been trying to crash Hollywood parties lately, her dim bulb ex-fiance might have a point. Most Predicto voters predict Vienna will be on the show, but member LuvMyFamily disagrees: “She is not a celebrity to star as one. I might as well be on next season.” Touche.
This is probably true, and no doubt the reason he might have been tapped to compete on Dancing with the Stars. If The Situation does appear on the show, producers are probably hoping he’ll be this season’s version of Kate Gosselin (i.e. annoying trainwreck that viewers love to hate). Plus, there’s a chance for a Snooki sighting, and that’s never a bad thing.
Who do you think will be on Dancing with the Stars this season? Sound off in the comments! And after you do, register for Predicto today and vote on the hottest topics that have everyone talking.
When we heard that Joey “Jaws” Chestnut, the reigning Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Champion, had been challenged by Shaquille O’Neal for his ABC show Shaq Vs., the Predicto team wanted to get some expert predictions . So we sent Coney Island native and Last Comic Standing finalist Michele Balan to the original Nathan’s Famous Hot Dogs, and asked folks how Shaq would fare.

Along with Labor Day, one other event signals the end of summer: the MTV Video Music Awards. An annual tradition since 1984, the VMAs recognize the biggest stars in the art form known as the music video.
These days, most of you probably see those on YouTube, but once upon a time, MTV was the source for the latest tunes from the likes of Michael Jackson, George Michael, Paula Abdul, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, TLC, Britney Spears, Eminem, Maroon 5 and Rihanna. True, artists could/can still find spins on VH1, BET or The Box (flashback!), but getting played on MTV was the equivalent to having a billboard displayed in Times Square: everybody saw it and everybody talked about it.
That’s why the VMAs always command such respect from the artists. Winning a Moonman is a recognition reflective of the times and only given to the cream of the pop culture crop. The VMAs are also the biggest party in destination cities such as Las Vegas, Miami and New York, who have each played host to the definitely un-black-tie affair, but this year, the awards will be handed out in Los Angeles.
Hmmm, could serendipity be playing its hand with the world’s favorite ubiquitous California Gurl? Katy Perry was announced as a performer, but fans are wondering if last year’s big winner (and this year’s 13-time nominee) Lady GaGa will also grace the stage. More than 30,000 Predicto members cast their vote on the subject — see what they think!
Of course, when Katy does show up, expect her to bring along her brand of arm candy in the form of her fiancé Russell Brand, who took up VMA hosting honors in 2008 and 2009. Will the British comedian and star of Get Him to the Greek be invited back for a charming third time? 63% of voters say yes!
Another up-in-the-air prediction about who will be present at the VMAs comes courtesy of one of pop music’s most talked-about beefs: that of Taylor Swift and Kanye West. By now, the legendary confrontation has become a tired meme, but since they both have albums coming out and West is being rumored as a performer, we’re curious to see if their paths will cross once again — and how!
But we must remember, above all else, that the VMAs are about the awards! One of the night’s biggest is the VMA for Best New Artist. Winners in this category can become top talent in pop music, with past winners including the likes of Eurythmics, Hootie & the Blowfish, Alicia Keys and Alanis Morisette. This year’s crop of contenders are Canadian teen sensation Justin Bieber, “Tik Tok” singer Ke$ha and Lil Wayne’s homegirl Nicki Minaj, among others. Coincidentally, all three made Predicto’s list of 2010’s must-watch celebrities, but who’s going to take this honor? Nearly half of voting members have Bieber Fever and are convinced Justin will walk away with the trophy.
There’s also the issue of a Best Hip-Hop Video. After 5 weeks atop Billboard’s album chart and a pair of No. 1 hits, 73% of Predicto members think Eminem is a shoo-in to defeat such heavy hitters as B.o.B., Drake and Kid Cudi.
The VMA fun has just begun at Predicto and there will be plenty of questions you can vote on before the September 12 show. Register for Predicto today and let your voice be heard about the hottest topics that have everyone talking.

The latest news from The Bachelor breaks our collective heart: Jake Pavelka and his chosen one, Vienna Girardi, have broken up!
The pair “fell in love” during a particularly controversial season of the show, one that also introduced fan-favorite and current Bachelorette Ali and another contestant viewers loved … to hate, Rozlyn. After a tumultuous filming, meeting of the parents and a proposal, Jake and Vienna seemed to be following in the footsteps of season 1 runner-up, Trista, who found love with her beau, Ryan, on the Bachelorette spinoff.
But just months after the season finale of Jake’s Bachelor season and his participation on Dancing with the Stars, the pair have parted ways — and left a trail of conflicting stories.
Starmagazine says that Vienna planned to leave Jake, while Usrecounts how Jake dumped Girardi because she was jealous of his fame. But did she cheat on America’s favorite pilot? And, after requesting privacy, the former couple plans to reunite on The Bachelorette finale on July 5.
Talk about contradictions. Another hot topic for this cooled-down couple is the rumor that one or both of the pair will appear on The Bachelor Pad, another spinoff of the popular Bachelor and Bachelorette franchises, where former contestants will compete in team-style competitions à la Real World/Road Rules Challenge and vote out housemates, just like Big Brother and Survivor. This means many of past seasons’ favorites will cross-pollinate and hook up left and right in a fantastic tropical destination. The fun starts in August, but will Jake or Vienna take part in the love fest? 81% of voting Predicto players say yes!
“You’re kidding, right? Those two together again is ridiculous,” says member “ixbu9541.”
“Daiseygibson” agrees, stating “Ali and Jake will get back together — Vienna is just dumb.”
But “aowt5090” is optimistic about Jake and Vienna’s relationship. “They’re going to get back together!” she proclaims.
Are Vienna and Jake looking for love in all the wrong places? Will their individual quests lead them back down the Bachelor path?
