Explosive cat fights, shameless product plugs and endless drama — it must be time for another Real Housewives series. In fact, the third season of The Real Housewives of New York premieres on Bravo this week. The Big Apple edition of the franchise is sure to provide plenty of fodder for the Predicto Mobile community, whose players are always on the pulse of the hottest happenings in pop culture, news and sports.
Since Bravo’s hit reality show has already taken over Orange County, Atlanta and New Jersey with its housewife high jinks, Predicto would like to offer its suggestions for future seasons of the franchise.
Texas:Everything is bigger in Texas and Predicto is pretty sure that applies to drama as well. One option is the Preston Hollow neighborhood in Dallas, where stars of the show could mingle with President and Laura Bush while tailgating at Cowboys games. Another is Houston, whose oil money has surely produced a few wealthy executives with wives who enjoy living a lavish lifestyle.
Salt Lake City:Utah’s capitol is a Rocky Mountain paradise, complete with the greatest snow on Earth. The ski bunnies of neighboring Park City’s elite could heat things up with affairs, hissy fits and snowball fights. Throw in the wife (wife singular, as polygamy is illegal in the state) of a prominent figure within the Church of Latter-day Saints and RHOSLC could be quite the downhill slope.
Scottsdale: Phoenix’s eastern cousin is a literal hot bed of tanning, cosmetic surgery and people who are thisclose to knowing someone who knows someone in Los Angeles. Year-round sunbathing, expansive homes and bleach-blond hairdos only spice up the inevitable cougar hunting, near divorces and over-the-budget purchases.
Alaska: Housewives of the “lipstick on a pit bull” variety will rough it out (or not, for the sake of viewers) in the vast wintry landscape. Likely living in the only houses for miles, the housewives will tolerate their fellow Sarah Palin admirers, but will constantly be rolling their eyes, backstabbing and talking smack about their “girlfriends” as they take their kids to hockey practice.
CNN’s slogan is “the most trusted name in news,” and one of its most recognizable faces is Anderson Cooper.
Since joining the network in 2001, Cooper has built a reputation as being an all-knowing, old-school anchor whose appeal extends from teenagers to senior citizens. He’s covered every major event since linking up with CNN and hosts the hard-hitting weeknight news program, Anderson Cooper 360°.
Additionally, Anderson is one of the contributors to 60 Minutes, adding a younger voice the aging roster of seasoned journalists. The program runs on CBS and may be contributing to the rumors swirling about his role there.
Depending on the source, Cooper met with executives at “America’s most watched network” months ago or last week. With Katie Couric’s contract about expire in 2011, media insiders are questioning whether CBS wants to part ways with Couric in order to secure Anderson as the anchor of the CBS Evening News.
Couric, who has been tackling anchor duties since 2006, has actually seen her ratings increase, but no one knows if her performance has pleased CBS, though the network continues to stand by her.
Will that change? We asked the Predicto Mobile community if they thought Anderson Cooper would be named as the successor to Couric this year. 55% of voting members say no!
Will Anderson take on the anchoring duties of the much respected news agency’s top show? There’s one way to find you: by registering to play Predicto! It was only a matter of time before something of this caliber was attempted, but we’ll admit — we’re a little shocked it’s actually going to happen.
Let’s back up a bit. By now everyone has heard about Tiger Woods’ infamous car crash, his tail-chasing ways and the bevy of lost sponsorships. Ever since that fateful day, the world’s best golfer has been caught in a perfect gossip storm speculating on everything from his return to golf to steroid use to a love child.
Through it all, women have been coming out of the hottest bars, hotels and X-rated flicks claiming to have had relations with Tiger “Cheetah” Woods. His harem is reportedly an exclusive club of at least 15 women.
So far, no one has successfully brought these women together in one location. Leave it to the King of All Media, Howard Stern, to accomplish this endeavor. Stern is reportedly hosting a pageant to crown Tiger’s Best Mistress on March 10.
The competition will include typical swimsuit, talent and personality tests. None of the mistresses have been revealed just yet, but four are reported to be joining in the competition — and one of them isn’t ex-cocktail waitress Rachel Uchitel, who can’t participate because of legal reasons.
This could be the most anticipated and scandalous event of 2010 — surely someone has to be cashing in on it, right?
We went straight to the Predicto Mobile community to get their thoughts on the Mistresses of Tiger Woods Pageant and asked if Howard Stern’s one-of-a-kind event would be televised via pay-per-view television. Given Stern’s reputation, it’s not surprising that nearly 59% of voting members say yes!
Is the shock jock’s beauty pageant going to be shown on pay-per-view TV? There’s one way to find you: by registering to play Predicto! Along with being able to vote on surveys just like this, you’ll receive texts when the answers are revealed. Want more Predicto? Become a fan on Facebook!
In the blue corner: the highest grossing film of all time; critical acclaim worldwide; six wins out of nine nominations from the Broadcast Film Critics Group Awards; eight nominations from the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA); two awards from four nominations in the Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s Golden Globe Awards, specifically best director and best film in drama genre. You can’t deny it: James Cameron’s $310 million science fiction film Avatar is on a roll.
And in the red corner: a Top 10 Film of the Decade chosen by the Associated Press; awards from the Venice Film Festival, Hollywood Film Festival, Golden Satellite Awards and many more accolades from film associations and guilds all around the world; also nominated for the BAFTAs and the Golden Globes. After spending nearly $11 million dollars, Katheryn Bigelow managed to direct a spellbinding tour-de-force of the modern-day Middle Eastern conflict in The Hurt Locker.
As the film awards season rolls along, it’s becoming more and more apparent that Cameron and Bigelow, once married to each another, seem to be on a collision course with destiny: the Best Director plum at this years Academy Awards. The Oscar for Best Director has a lot of other possible directors of note worthy of taking the crown: District 9’s Neil Blomkamp, Inglourious Basterds‘ Quentin Tarantino and Up in the Air’s Jason Reitman all are favorites to be nominated.
Yet the rumors are already swirling, even as the nominees for the Oscars have yet to be announced. There is talk that these exes are about to go into a once-in-a-blue-moon showdown for one of Hollywood’s biggest prizes.
It’s not like it hasn’t happened already. They both faced each other in the Golden Globes and in the Critics’ Choice Awards, with one win each. It’s worth mentioning how both of their works are of such quality that they can take each other on. It’s like a massive boxing match and people wonder if they will face off.
Everyone with Twitter accounts were proudly announcing themselves as “Team Conan”, upset by how NBC was treating the red-headed host like a red-headed stepchild. The movement came together so quickly that an “I’m With Coco” image soon became as iconic as Obama’s “Hope” poster. It’s hard to find a person on the Internet who hasn’t voiced their support for the beleaguered O’Brien, all feeling that Jay Leno had manipulated his way back to his old show.

Once upon a time, American Idol was a televised karaoke competition. Young, aspiring singers would pour their renditions of Stevie Wonder, Whitney Houston and Bonnie Raitt on to the stage. Their dreams were praised or crushed (much more fun for sadistic voyeurs in the audience) by the presiding panel of pop music, consisting of Randy Jackson, Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell.
The drama was mostly relegated to the show, with a few bouts between judges, but now the off-camera antics of the justices are upstaging the talent!
Who can forget when Paula Abdul — reportedly offered less money than fellow judge Cowell and host Ryan Seacrest — parted ways with TV’s ratings juggernaut last year? Or when Kara DioGuardiand Ellen DeGeneres joined the ranks? Well, another judge is making headlines by packing his bags and exiting Idol. Cowell is ditching the slowly declining mega-hit for the U.S. version of The X Factor.
For the uninitiated, The X Factor is a British televised karaoke competition that’s similar to Idol and discovered previous winner and reigning pop queen, Leona Lewis. Cowell is bringing it to the states in fall 2011 and announced that the current season of Idol will be his last.
With his announcement coming just days before American Idol’s season premiere, attention has gravitated to the question of who will join sinister Simon at the judges’ table. Naturally, one of the names that has come up is that of Paula Abdul.
Paula hasn’t had much going on since her departure from Idol after Kris Allen was crowned. If the olive branch was extended, would she sign up for The X Factor?

NBC’s head honchos at 30 Rock have created quite the mess for late-night TV, but will its moves behind the scenes send one of its stars walking?
Prior to Conan O’Brien hosting The Tonight Show, Jay Leno held hosting duties after the retirement of the legendary Johnny Carson in 1992. Jay’s run lasted until earlier this year, when it was announced with much hype that Conan would be taking over the seat. Additionally, Leno would be getting a new prime-time variety/talk show that would air at 10 p.m. EST.
Leno’s experiment has been lauded by NBC as performing at the levels the network expected, but affiliates have complained that the scheduled lead-in from Jay’s new show has made the ratings for their evening newscasts drop.
The proposition on the table is for Leno to host a half-hour program starting at 11:35 p.m. (after most stations wrap up their news) with Conan’s Tonight Show pushed back to a 12:05 a.m. start time and Jimmy Fallon airing at 1:05 a.m.
It looks like NBC’s programming will be on hiatus in February thanks to the Winter Olympics, but once the schedule resumes, this new lineup is said to be taking place.
TMZ reports that NBC has given Conan a choice: stick with the new schedule or gracefully walk away from a contract that was originally supposed to last until 2014.
Looks like late-night viewers can’t have their cake and eat it, too, but what do you think is going to happen? The Predicto TV team was invited to many great events throughout 2009. No matter how exclusive the guest list, sometimes it seemed everywhere we went, members from the cast of ‘The Real Housewives of New York City’ were in the house.
The ladies had plenty to share with us, but the number one topic was usually whether or not controversial Kelly Bensimon will be back in 2010. A lot of Predicto members voted to kick her off and even those who didn’t made sure to let us know they weren’t supporting her with their votes. Member “kristileigh” for instance commented that Bensimon would NOT be dumped, but added “Kelly has some issues.”
Issues aside, the girl appears to be a survivor. As the Bravo series’ third season nears its premiere, we’re already hearing that Bensimon is at the center of dramaand tossing barbs at mom-to-be Bethenny Frankel. See what other juicy morsels the ‘Housewives’ offered up to our cameras – check out Episode 55 of Predicto TV now!

Celebrity gossip blogger Perez Hilton has never been shy about expressing his opinions on the rich and famous, but now he’s on the receiving end of the tongue-lashing.
Perez was supposed to appear on Los Angeles TV station KTLA to promote his new book. Apparently, Hilton arrived at 8 a.m., nearly an hour and a half before his scheduled on-air time, and demanded to be put on the show.
Since this couldn’t happen, the Queen of All Media reportedly stormed out of the studio. The station’s Sam Rubin was so upset about what went down that he berated Hilton the following day.
Never one to run from a fight, we’re curious to see if Perez will defend himself against what we’re sure will be perceived as an attack.
