The NBA Finals are rapidly approaching their crux! Well, Cleveland might not be so eager for that to happen, but Boston, Orlando, Phoenix and Los Angeles have a case of Finals Fever!
And why shouldn’t they? The Celtics, Magic, Suns and Lakers are the leaders of the league, but as we know, only one will take home the trophy and be this year’s world champion.
Before that can happen, kings must be crowned in the West and the East. The Boston Celtics took on the Orlando Magic on Sunday, with the Celts taking an early lead in the Eastern Conference Finals. We asked the Predicto Mobile community which beast from the East would represent the Right Coast against the Suns/Lakers winner. 62% are in favor of the Celtics!
But remember, in order to win, whoever reigns the East must first conquer the West, and the Phoenix Suns and L.A. Lakers are two teams that refuse to go down easily. In fact, Phoenicians and Angelenos are in their own war as to which will proceed to the championship round. So far, 79% are convinced that Los Angeles will represent the West!
B-ball fans are eager to see who will face off in the Finals, so these series will be hot talk for days to come. King LeBron James may find himself dethroned tonight. His Cleveland Cavaliers are down in the team’s 3-2 series against the Boston Celtics. Which team will win?
One controversy, regardless of who gets bragging rights, is if the Cavs fail to make it to the Eastern Conference Finals of the ongoing NBA Playoffs, will James exit his hometown for the Big Apple?
While the appeal of New York’s big city and bright lights is simply alluring to your average baller, James has a more complicated choice. He could be giving up a strong partner in Shaquille O’Neal, his god-like status in the Midwestern city and a stronger chance at a championship for a role in a troubled franchise with a potentially retiring star.
Though lap dances might be encouraging to the average player, LeBron has proven time and again that he’s far from ordinary on the court. Will he be enticed by this opportunity to build a stronger team? Or will he stick with what’s familiar? David “Big Papi” Ortiz is following Jay-Z’s blueprint for success to T. No, the Boston Red Sox slugger isn’t going to big-up his Dominican Republic homeland with a tribute song featuring Alicia Keys. Instead, Ortiz opened a club in D.R. called Forty-Forty.
Now, for those of you who know nothing about baseball beyond base hits and errors, a forty-forty is an accomplishment a player earns upon hitting 40 homeruns and stealing 40 bases in a season. The name seems appropriate given Big Papi’s profession, right?
However, Jigga feels differently. See, Mr. Beyoncé Knowles owns a club called 40/40 in New York and Atlantic cities (and formerly Las Vegas). He filed a $5 million lawsuit against the Major Leaguer claiming trademark infringement and such. Guess his flow on “Money Ain’t a Thing” was a lie?
Anyway, Ortiz’s camp has yet to respond to the lawsuit. When he does, will the battle go to court or will Big Papi cave in to Jay-Z’s demands? Can two 40/40’s (Forty-Fortys?) co-exist?
The Predicto Mobile community weighed in on the battle between these two heavy hitters. When asked if Jay-Z’s suit would get Ortiz to change the name of his club, 52% voted yes!

Tiger, Tiger Woods, y’all! The woes of the world’s best golfer seemto beexponential, but the former cheetah is clawing his way back to the top.
Yesterday, Woods announced that he would return to the sport that made him a star. He’ll play the Masters, which start on April 8.
Given his history with the tournament — he’s won four titles — this looks to be a ratings juggernaut!
Want more proof? Back when Woods was a rookie on the professional circuit in 1997, his winning stroke struck gold with 43 million viewers.
Nearly half as many watched his awkward apology to his family and friends last month. Those are still serious numbers for golf, whose figureheads claim that Tiger’s months-long absence from the links resulted in lost ratings and decreased public awareness.
With the Masters airing on CBS, execs at the network expect American Idol-style ratings for Woods’ road to redemption. This time, though, gawkers won’t be tuning in just to see how well Tiger has maintained his swing, they’ll want a glimpse of the guy who’s managed to stay so private during such a public scandal.
As Woods obliges fans and foes alike, Predicto asked its players if they thought this would be the all-time, most-watched extravaganza in all of golf’s history. 83% say yes!
Is it any surprise that the American public is curious about Tiger’s performance — on the greens, that is? Will he win the coveted green jacket and the much more attractive trophy? No, Patrick is more than just a pretty face gracing magazine covers (though she does that, too). The 27-year-old has been a newsmaker for nearly five years, breaking barriers as a driver for the IndyCar Racing Series, and often ranking high at flag finishes and in fan-favorite polls.
Last weekend, Danica participated in her first stockcar race at the Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA) race in Daytona Beach, Fla. She placed sixth in her initial go round in this particular type of car. That made today’s announcement even more exciting: Danica will fasten her seatbelt for another stockcar race in Daytona, specifically the National Series on Saturday!
This will mark Patrick’s first race in a NASCAR event. Given her strong place at the ARCA race, will she be able to score a big racing win at the National Series? Predicto Mobile players and NASCAR aficionados have had their say and 61% have voted with a resounding no!
Danica is no stranger to proving her critics wrong. Will she do just that to the Predicto Mobile community by winning the National Series race on Saturday? Music royalty has a name. It is Prince and he is funky!
The Minneapolis native has been soaring up the charts since the 1970s with such recognizable hits as “1999,” “Little Red Corvette” and “When Doves Cry.” As a talented musician, he’s inspired a generation of artists with his sometimes raunchy but always funky melodies.
Will lightning strike now that it’s 2010? His Purpleness recently recorded a song called “Purple and Gold,” an unofficial fight song for his hometown Minnesota Vikings. The football team is set to take on the New Orleans Saints on Sunday for the title of NFC Champion. Whoever wins this matchup goes on to the Super Bowl.
The song — which sounds a little more like a prep school fight song than one made for gridiron gladiators — has been making the rounds on the Internet. His Majesty was also seen at last week’s game, where the Vikings knocked the Cowboys out of contention.
The coincidence between Prince’s color of choice and that of the Vikings is uncanny, but will his choice of lyrics rally the Vikings to adopt his composition as the team’s official fight song? 59% of voting Predicto Mobile members say yes!

Football season is coming to an end, but, as any true fan knows, this is when the action begins!
In the lead up to the Super Bowl, both the AFC and NFC divisions will select their champion through playoff games. While the former will feature a matchup between Peyton Manning’s Indianapolis Colts and Mark Sanchez’s New York Jets, the latter will be a showdown at the Superdome between the Minnesota Vikings and New Orleans Saints. Analyzing both teams, NFL.com shows the Saints with a stronger offense, defense, record and win percentage, but all eyes have been on the Minnesota Vikings’ superstar, Brett Favre.
Favre, who retired last year but made the decision to come out for another season, has lead the team to an impressive record. His performance has challenged the notion of how old is too old to play football as he’s schooled rookies and veterans alike in his quest for another Super Bowl ring.
What do you think will happen at the big game?
